How to get ripped-off by your employer
Allright this is going to be my way of extricating the demons from my personal situation. Has it happened to you in the past to work for someone that rips you off ? Doesn't pay your benefits,doesn't want to pay your travel time or even your overtime at the rate it is supposed to ? To me that's called FRAUD ! Yes, I guess everyone has at one point or another been through this lamentable position of seemingly begging their employer to pay them what is due . It has been my latest and probably last attempt at trying to work for somebody else. You see , in my country (Canada) to work as a certified electrician you HAVE to be employed by a "master electrician" (mastered in the capacity to screw you over)or "Electrical contractor.
(Contracting other people's talents for his-her own gain) I have been evicted from my job lately because I was asking for what was owed to me by my boss.(WAS an old "friend", can you imagine friendship under these circumstances ?)
This guy had told me he could not pay these benefits because the construction field was too competitive and no client of his wanted to pay for that. Allright then, explain this to me : How come you get to have a $200K condo up north that you rent out for $185.00 a day (all year long). How come boss, you get to travel to France with your spouse in september ? How come you buy each of your kids (3) 2 pairs of $ 1000 skis every year ? How come you have a mobile home that's worh over 150 grand ? I'll tell you why. It's because these "contractors" think that they are doing us a favor by using OUR talents to make money off. In old times it was called slavery, even though they didn't pay the poor saps that were slaves. So today I reasoned that it is MY duty as a person to sue this guy for back pay and all other benefits unpaid.
With the help of my union I WILL get what is mine. I wrote this out of the frustration that builds by seeing and hearing rich people abuse hard-working men and women even today, when our rights are well established by law.
It sucks to see what human nature has sunk to. That even with some people ; we are still but cattle,numbers on a spreadsheet. When will all people learn that cooperation NOT competition sets us free.
Don't let anybody tell you that you are not a good person and that your life is not worth it. Your were created for a purpose and only YOU can achieve that purpose. So start thinking about what you REALLY want to do with your life and tomorrow : do it !
